In the present study, three-parameter one-dimensional vertical infiltration equation recently proposed by Poulovassilis and Argyrokastritis is examined. The includes saturated hydraulic conductivity (Ks), soil sorptivity (S), an additional parameter c; it valid for all times. c a fitting that depends on type of porous medium. characterized incorporation exact contribution pressure head gradient to flow during process. application in eight media showed approaches known two-parameter Green–Ampt = 0.300, while Talsma–Parlange 0.750, which are two extreme limits cumulative soils. value 0.500 can be representative behavior many soils non-ponded conditions, consequently, converted into one. determination Ks, S, using data from was also investigated with help Excel Solver application. results when three parameters considered as adjustment parameters, accurate predictions S Ks not achieved, if fixed at 0.500, prediction very satisfactory. Specifically, first case, maximum relative error values were 33.29% 39.53% respectively, second corresponding 13.25% 17.42%.
